Live each moment to the fullest………Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But is it really simple? How many of us actually do this?
In today’s hectic and chaotic times we are all leading fast paced lives. We are all caught up in a mad rat race. There is always something to be done, someone to be met, somewhere to be reached………We are running from pillar to post, from one chore to another almost mechanically, without really enjoying what we are doing. Most of the time we are either being plagued by memories of the past or we are fretting about the future. We are not really living in the present at all.
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” – Buddha
What does it mean to live fully in the present moment? It means that your awareness is completely centered on the here and now. You are not worrying about the future or thinking about the past.
If you’re living in the present, you’re living in acceptance. You’re accepting life as it is now, not as how you wish it would have been. When you’re living in acceptance, you realize everything is complete as it is. You can forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, and you can have peace in your heart knowing that you have no control over future events.. This way you are not carrying any excess baggage and you are free from stress.
If you want to change your life, the only place you can do it is in the present. But first you need to accept life as it is. When it comes down to it, your mind is the only thing keeping you from living in the present.
